How it works

From the first call to the final statement

Every claim moves differently, but most follow this path.

  1. 01

    Step 1: The first call

Cortney or Rafaela listens, asks a few questions and tells you whether we can help. There is no charge for it.

  2. 02

    Step 2: The agreement

We go over the fee and the costs line together and put both in writing. You can take it home and read it.

  3. 03

    Step 3: Treatment and evidence

You focus on getting better. We collect records, photos and witness names, and write to the insurers and to any trucking company.

  4. 04

    Step 4: The demand

When your treatment shows what the injury really costs, we send the insurer a detailed demand, with every bill and record behind it.

  5. 05

    Step 5: Negotiation, or suit

Most claims settle here. If an offer isn't fair, we talk about filing, and about what that means for the timeline and the fee.

  6. 06

    Step 6: The settlement statement

Before any check goes out, you see every line: the fee, the costs, the medical bills and what's yours.

While you heal

What's worth keeping

A folder, a phone album and a few lines in a notebook are enough.

  • Photos and video

Of the scene, the vehicles and your injuries as they change.

  • Bills and receipts

Medical, pharmacy, rentals, rides to appointments.

  • Pay and time off

Pay stubs, and a note of the days you missed.

  • Letters from insurers

Everything, even the ones that look routine. Don't sign before we've read them.

  • A short diary

A few lines a day on pain, sleep and what you could not do.

  • Names of witnesses

Anyone who saw the crash or its aftermath, with a phone number.

Timing

How long it takes

How long does a claim take?

From a few months to a few years. It depends on how long you're in treatment and whether a lawsuit is filed. We won't promise you a date.

Will I have to go to court?

Probably not. Most claims settle, and if yours won't, Rafaela prepares you for each step.

Can I keep my own doctors?

Yes. Your treatment is your choice and your doctors' call, not ours.

Begin with one call

It starts with a call or a few lines, and you decide what comes next.
