Questions

Answers before you have to ask twice

Fees

Is there a fee if you recover nothing?

No. Your agreement also says whether you would owe the case costs, and we read that line with you before you sign.

Are the percentages negotiable?

They are set by the firm and written down before we begin. If something about them worries you, say so at the first meeting.

Do you take a share of my medical bills?

The fee is a percentage of the recovery. The bills are a separate line, which we negotiate down so more of the recovery stays with you.

Insurers

Should I give the insurer a recorded statement?

Not before talking to a lawyer. Give your name, say where it happened and say your lawyer will call back.

The insurer wants me to sign a release. What is that?

A paper that ends your claim, usually for everything, including treatment you haven't needed yet. Don't sign it until it has been read.

My own insurer is calling too. Do I need to talk to them?

You usually have to cooperate with your own insurer. Tell us first, and we will help you do it without giving away more than the policy requires.

The office

Do you work in Spanish?

Yes. Rafaela and Cortney Landry both do, on calls, in meetings and in the paperwork you take home.

Can you meet me at home or in the hospital?

After a serious injury, yes, or by video if that is easier. Call and we will arrange it.

Which cases do you take?

Car crashes, truck crashes and wrongful death. For other injury claims, we will say so plainly and point you toward someone who handles them.

Anything we left out?

Ask us directly. Cortney or Rafaela will answer the same business day.
